I used the shine sport on the knitted pocket diaper, and I did a smidge of measuring and mostly made it up on the fly. I did sketch it first. If you look in my projects on Ravelry I have a diaper cover that is really frilly that I lined. It was a lot less annoying to create a lining that way than the way I did it on the pocket diaper.
