Yarn Score!

I happened to spot an ad on Craiglist last night from a few days ago.. “box of yarn, $5” - and this is what it was! It’s almost all 2/24 acrylic - just what I can actually use! The orange is 2/12 and the purple is 1/32(?) and I think the big green cone is 2/21, but all usable as scrap! It was still available so I drove (70 miles) to pick it up this evening. I stopped at Sonic too for some slushes, so my $5 yarn ended up being closer to $20, but that’s fine, it’s still a good deal!

Yarn Score!

Well worth the trip, I’d say.

I had a relatively productive sock day today too… I made three socks.

(see that green yarn? that’s scrap.. hence what the box of yarn for $5 is handy for)
Socks!

Why three, you ask? Well, because I didn’t like the first one (a little snug, a little short) and I just didn’t frog it before making a pair. I did something stupid though, and after completing the *heel* on the second sock, put on waste yarn and cranked it off the machine. Yeah. Ooops. It’s okay though, becuase I got familiar real quick with how to re-hang my knitting, and I just kept working on the foot. Aside from some yarn tails on the inside, you’d never know I did that.

It looks much scarier than it was, really :)

And just because, a close-up of sock #1 and it’s beautiful heel!
Socks!

I think those are for my mom. I haven’t decided yet.
